Founder and Chairman
Madylon Meiling, Ph.D., is a recognized leader and facilitator of collaborative partnerships that are both successful and sustainable. Dr. Meiling has more than fifteen years of experience as a corporate consultant and executive coach, specializing in leadership development, team learning, emotional intelligence, and organizational culture and change initiatives with Fortune 100 Companies.
She received her B.A. in education from Brooklyn College; her M.Ed. with a focus on curriculum development from Rhode Island College; and her Ph.D. in education and leadership from the University of Tulsa, and has twenty-five years of experience in the field of education, including teaching, administration, facilitation, curriculum development, and research.
Dr. Meiling completed post-doctoral studies in group dynamics and is qualified as a corporate coach by the International Coach Federation. Madylon is also certified in mediation and conflict resolution for civil and family matters.
Madylon is a national facilitator with AmericaSpeaks, and provided onsite and online facilitation for “Listening to the City,” a coalition of civic, business, environmental, community, and university groups committed to ensuring that community voices were heard in the plans to rebuild and remember Lower Manhattan. This was a unique town meeting for 5000 participants and 500 facilitators after September11.
Most recently, Dr. Meiling served as Vice President for Development at Sierra Nevada College, Nevada’s only four-year private liberal arts college and 501(c)(3) organization. She built a successful development team, a committed donor base, and a variety of innovative programs including partnerships with the National Italian American Foundation, Wells Fargo, Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, and the Lake Tahoe Basin Prosperity Plan.
Madylon and husband Dean Meiling are well known for their generous philanthropic work in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Madylon has established herself as a great champion of education and community development. Madylon founded Lake Tahoe SummerFest and has been an active member of the Board of Directors for Pet Network Humane Society since 2002, as well as serving on the Board for American Association of University Women (AAUW) and Sierra Nevada College.
Dean Meiling is Chairman of the Board for the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation and serves on the National Automobile Museum Board and Reno Philharmonic Endowment Trust, as well as having served on the Sierra Nevada College Board of Trustees.
